Black ice bears weigh about 900-1,000 lbs. They are carnivorous hunters, more fearsome than any ordinary bear. If a second attack roll hits after one claw attack, then the bear hugs its foe for an additional 2-16 damage. The bite does 1-8 points of physical damage and 1-4 points of cold damage. If, for whatever reason, it chooses not to bite, it can use its icy breath as a weapon, doing 1-4 damage at a range of 5 feet (save vs. breath weapon for no damage). Black ice bears take only half damage from all other cold attacks. The black ice bear is native to the Land of Black Ice where it camouflages with its surroundings, though refugees from that artic wilderness have been encountered farther south.
